And me…(Arron)
Shepherd Neame has a lot of paranormal activity but it happens mostly during the day, office workers have reported doors slamming shut, figures walking past the doors heading to a dead end and not returning. A nasty spirit is said to inhabit the office corridors and spiral staircase so needless to say we had to spend time there! In the old Lab (now tech services) a lady while sorting through paper work looked up to see a man standing over her before he quickly vanished! She left soon after this.
Before I could get my gadgets together things were already happening, some of the group went for a look around and the 2 Ian’s already @ 9.20pm in the boardroom Big (soon to be small) Ian was tapped on the shoulder and Terry’s legs went very cold as he sat at the head of the table. Ian Hawley, Alan Dan and Paul felt a band of energy in the office corridor. In the clock tower Ian felt as if he had been hit in the mouth and he also felt as if he’d been poked in the shoulder. Alan picked up the name Shaun/Sean, and Irish man falling while on the Gantry.
Some of us headed to the Clock tower where some of the sensitives felt an energy coming in and out of the room, I could also feel this energy and I’m as sensitive as a brick! But I could felt something coming past me then back out. We thought it may have been a draft but the cobwebs on the rafters were not moving so Ian, Gary and myself tried it with the door closed and we still felt it. The temp ranged from 10c to 11.5c.

We then started the evenings investigation in our groups, tonight we had a Sensitives Vs the Techs. Paul C, Gary, Stuart and Me were the tech group while everybody else were in two Sensitive groups. We started in the Malt silo, using Nightvision, EVP, Digital cameras EMF meters, and Infrared thermometers we hoped to find something. We heard a few noises in the silo but we had to put this down to Mice so we moved off to the Malt Kiln
@
We then joined Lou, Ian Hawley Sandy and Roo in the Board Room, it seemed really flat by the time we arrived so we had a break.

@12.57am we then started in the offices upstairs (one of the most haunted parts), after looking around we settled on the spiral stairs where a psychic in the past had the feeling of someone wanting to push them to the bottom.

We then went back to the Board Room (where we had left the motion sensor camera but it caught nothing) again we asked out for some of Shepherd Neame’s past owners to join us but sadly we had no takers. Average temp in this room was 20c, we were then joined by everybody else, they sat around the table and tried to “tune in” to the rooms spirits. During this time we heard a noise coming from the room above so Ian Hawley, Paul C, Gary and Myself dashed upstairs to check it out.

In one of the upstairs offices Ian told me that he was getting a picture of a man in a tall fluffy hat with a large mustache, horses and connected to the military he also got the name Henry and long sabers/swords, he also claimed that the spirits were not willing to communicate because they felt it was silly and beneath then. Some of what Ian was saying was making sense but the name was wrong or so I thought,

Ian then picked up residual energy moving from the room we were in and down the corridor so we followed.
It took us to the room just past the Spiral staircase on the left. Even I felt funny walking across the room. Then it carried on and we lost it. It appeared as if this was a journey that this residual energy did quite often.
On our way back to have a brew I stumbled across an old picture of a Military man called Henry Shepherd Jnr, the picture was just as Ian described. He admitted that he may of seen the picture out of the corner of his eye and subconsciously stored this information or it could of really come to him.

We had a break and all decided to hold a séance in the room close to the spiral staircase. During the first séance Stacey (while in a trance) banged her hand on the table out of aggression and got the name George and 1673 but not much else.
After a break we then decided to hold another séance in the room at the top of the spiral staircase. During the Séance we got the names George and John, George was communicating through Stacey and John was kind of talking through Alan, (pay attention this gets confusing) George would not speak but he would Write so we got him a pen and paper, while this was going on John popped up and decided he wanted to join in also. So while Stacey was in a trance and writing for George, Alan was not in a trance but writing for John.

Without wanting to give to much information away about our two spirits they started to have an argument on paper! Lots of “get outs” and “yes” and “no” we had to break them up at one point. We woke Stacey up for safety reasons and lost George but John stayed with us. John wanted us to go to the room next door so he could cross over but why would he want us there if he could communicate with us from where we were. This did not make sense and it looked like we could be in for trouble. After John got nasty and tried to break Alan’s hand we decided to end it, even though we want to make communication with spirits the team members wellbeing always comes first.
All in all it was another good night, sadly there was no HARD evidence to suggest that Shepherd Neame is haunted but it’s still an odd place to wonder at night. Hopefully we shall return in 2007 for more.
