The Investigation:

 

C.O.T.C. lead the investigation and invited their members along for the ride. Stacey (C.O.T.C. Co- Director) split everyone into 3 groups each group contained a “sensitive” (psychic), I was in Stacey’s group with Paul, John* & Sonia*, Rodger*(*new members)

 

We used:

IR Thermometer,

EMF Meter,

Cameras (APS & Digital),

And a Night-Vision Camcorder.

 

Our group started in the gardens at around 9pm, the sun was setting and the temperature was starting to drop. Nothing was sighted by anyone not even Stacey (psychic), Paul took a picture of the bench where we stopped for a rest and caught a picture of an “Orb” but sadly that’s all that was seen in the gardens until later at least!

 

After we had a break our group was sent to the tall “Gate House” at the entrance of Michelham Priory, we made our way to the first floor and got settled. John armed with the EMF Meter and IR Thermometer started to check the room for activity while Paul took pictures with his Digital Camera, I filmed using the Night-Vision Camcorder and Sonia took notes. Stacey tuned in to the presence of a man stood by the Fireplace at the same time I caught some “Orbs” on film moving past the lens. The man/spirit calling himself “Johnathan” clamed to be deaf. The presence was said to be an “active” spirit and not just a re-play, While we started to set up an Automatic Handwriting Experiment Stacy and myself heard the sound of a women sighing, Stacey then went into a trance and started to write. Stacey wrote when we asked her questions so Paul asked if we had a spirit present not knowing who may come through, Stacey wrote “Johnathan” other details came through but we can’t give away to much just in case of future investigations.

 

 

After another break our group investigated the Priory itself, we started in what we called the “Music Room” each group member used the same equipment as they did in the “Gate House” John picked up some big EMF readings by the window while Paul caught some “Orbs” also by the window. Stacey picked up on a man telling us to get out of his house, this has been picked up in the past and is believed to be Robert Henry Sackville (he dosen’t like visitors) we then made our way to the Priors camber.

In the priors camber john picked up some high levels of EMF in the corner of the room by a hanging tapestry, we looked behind it to see if there were any power leads but none could be found. Stacey picked up on a lady in the corner of the room crying, the lady was described as being in her late 20’s and sat behind the figure of the monk could this of been Jennifer Sackville daughter of Robert Henry Sackville?. Stacey also picked up on a man pacing up and down the room looking for someone or something, this has been pick up in the past by C.O.T.C. and the Ghost Club. On their investigations the man is looking for a little girl called Rosie, he is supposed to hurt Rosie so she runs and hides. Jennifer has also been picked up in the past via a séance claiming that she is very sorry that she can’t stop the man hurting Rosie, is this why the spirit in the corner of the room is crying? We then made our way to the staircase where Stacey picked up the presence of a lady.

 

The lady was said to be standing at the top of the stairs on the left hand side (opposite side to the priest hole) john checked for EMF’s and was not disappointed, the EMF Meter was picking up more high readings but as soon as they were found they were gone. We checked the batteries to seen if they had run flat but they seemed fine and when john checked again the EMF’s came back as strong as before right on the spot where Stacey saw the figure of a lady. We then had another break before the Ouija Board.

During one of the breaks Stacey saw what she describes as a monk in the gardens she took a picture of it and caught what looked like a bright blue flame like shape, this is something that C.O.T.C. have never caught before so it came as a bit of a surprise.

All three groups gathered in the Priors chamber for the Ouija Board, we voted on this room as it seemed to have the most number of spirits. The Ouija Board was preformed by John, Stuart, Paul and Kate, the glass did indeed move but sadly it spelt out nothing of any significance and seemed like a waste of time so we regrouped and made our way to the music room for the first séance.

 

Most of the group sat in a circle and held hands after about 5-10 minutes Stacey started to make some noises. Adrian (C.O.T.C. Co-Director) asked if we had anybody present that would like to talk to us Stacey/Spirit groaned and mumbled.

 

Then a conversation started…

 

Adrian: could you repeat that please

 

Stacey: get out (in a rather deep voice)

 

Adrian: why should we leave?

 

Stacey: it’s my house

 

Adrian: it may have been your house once but it’s not any more

 

Stacey: mumble, groan

 

Adrian: can you make the clock stop ticking?

 

It then started to die down and Stacey choked and came out of her trance. We then had a break and came back for the final and best part of the evening!

 

We decided to have another crack at a séance again we sat in a circle and after 5-10 minutes Stacey started to channel the same spirit again…

 

Adrian: is there anybody here that wants to talk to us?

 

Stacey: get out of my house

 

Adrian: we will be leaving soon but not yet

 

Stacey: get out

 

Adrian: who are you, whats your name?

 

Stacey: f**k you

 

Adrian: that’s not very nice, please try to treat me with the same respect as I am treating you

 

Stacey: f**k you

 

Adrian: please try to calm down

 

Stacey: get out

 

Adrian: can you make the clock stop?

 

Stacey: f**k you

 

At this point Stacey then started to try to break the circle and crush the hands of the people sat next to her, Adrian tried to get her to calm down and when that didn’t work he brought her round from her trance. The room then went quiet and out of nowhere Kate shouted “F**K OFF” making everybody jump. Kate is also a “sensitive” but Kate picks up on Emotions more than sights or sounds and it would appear as though she picked up on the negativity of the spirit in the room and she very promptly told it to go away (sort of). We then had a final break before all three groups gathered and shared their findings.

 

As we were leaving to go home we noticed that even though the clock in the music room did not stop ticking as we hoped it would the grandfather clock in the room next to it (dinning room) had in fact stopped at around the time of the 2^nd séance.
