Investigation

We arrived at St Mary’s Church at 8:45pm, we made our way to the back of the church and set up base camp. It was decided that we would split into two groups Boys Vs Girls to see which group would get the best results Psychic’s Vs Technology.

Stacey, Sandy and Chrissy headed one way While Paul, Chris and Myself headed the other. During our walk about we made our way towards the car park to get a pen from the car, as we did I saw what I can only describe as a dark figure standing next to a bush. I called across to Paul and Chris who had wondered off to look at a grave, when I turned back and turned my torch on the figure had gone. Was the figure really there or were my eyes playing tricks on me? The more I think about it the more I think it was a trick of the light, but at the time it seemed very real indeed.

After I had retrieved the pen from the car we headed back to the church via the graveyard, as we did Chris said he saw lights on the ground I asked him if it was possible that they were torch lights he said “no it was defiantly not a torch light they were more like pin pricks of light instead of beams”. We had already passed many graves that night but as we approached a grave near where Chris had seen the lights he got a funny feeling as though it was giving off energy, as Chris got closer to the grave the energy got stronger. Chris read the headstone and discovered he had no links with the women buried there so why was he feeling this strange power?

We then moved on towards the church as we did Chris saw a Head bobbing along the other side of a stone wall. I radioed the girls team to see if they were anywhere near the area in question, Stacey said they were on the other side of the wall but not where Chris had seen the Head. Both teams then gathered and we continued in one big group.

 

While we were in our big group Stacey walked off towards one of the many trees near the car park claiming it was a hanging tree, while we all stood looking at it Chris then saw a figure walk across the field behind us. The description of the figure Chris saw matched that of the figure that I had seen earlier in the night, maybe I wasn’t seeing things after all. We then had a coffee break and set out to find the perfect spot for a séance.

 

 

We decided to sit in front of the church Stacey, Sandy, Chris, Chrissy and myself all linked hands while Paul filmed and asked questions. As we sat quietly I got the name “Jack” placed into my head it wasn’t until later that I discovered that Chris’s Granddad was known as “Jack”. When Stacey started to channel the spirit it sounded as if it was very scared in fact it did say “Fear”. The spirit sounded as though it was crying, It also said “he’s coming” and as we tried to get Stacey back it said “Murder” sadly not much more was said. While all this was going on Chris felt as though it must have been a young girl and we all agreed it was female. Could it have been someone who had been murdered and buried at St Mary’s still being hounded by her killer?

 

After we had a break I took some pictures and caught some orbs, Chris started to see the spirit lights again over in the direction of the grave that had made him feel odd earlier on, Chrissy also said that she had seen them but the rest of us sadly couldn’t. after we investigated the lights again nothing could be found but the same grave was now making Stacey feel strange also. The grave had fresh flowers on it but the lady died in 2000, could it be the anniversary of the women’s death causing the energy?

 

 

We then made our way back to the cars and left the residents of St Mary’s to rest in peace

 

Chris came along to the investigation with no claims of being psychic but he’s defiantly got something. One thing is for certain, Chris has a power that needs to be tuned and he needs to be taught how to use it.

 

as for St Mary's... YES! it is definatly Haunted.

After Chris got his film developed he came across this mist picture.

 

 

Pictures like this have been captured all over the world and even though it looks like smoke Chris says he wasn't smoking at the time. This type of mist is what some ghosthunters believe to be a ghost beginning to form. As I am in the picture I must admit I don't remember Chris having a Cigarette whilst taking this snap.

Kalvin Mahoney Emailed us with his tales of Sompting Church, it seems as though everything we caught happens on a regular basis...

 

hi i would like to draw your attention to your hunt that
you did at st mary church at sompting. and about the photo containing the smoke.
i have taken photos of people smoking ie friends inside and outside. some in a
group of 5 or less and it dose not show up as much as that you caught on
film unless he is holding a smoke bomb in one of his hands which is very
unlikely. and if you look very closely and the top of the smoke to me it looks
like a lady forming. this may sound that i am a wierdo but i am not i have great
interest in live after death and me and a mate of mine just go out to our local
cementry and try and catch things that you are doing.  the reason why i am
letting you know is because everybody that dont belive always put it down to
some one smoking. if they looked very closely then they can tell its not smoke
from a fag or a cigar unless they are holding 20 in each hand. the black figure
you said about in the car park. we have seen that at the back of the church on
the field behind as well as i use to live close to that church. and i use to
take my dog walking on the back field. and thats where i have see the black
figure i thought i was seeing things. any way i thought i just let you know.
have a look at the photo and see if it is a lady forming. i would like to hear

HISTORY:

Over the years many people have seen what they’ve described as a “White Lady” following them along Rilshaw Lane, in fact the last known sighting was around 2 weeks before our investigation. A gentleman on his way home on his Motorbike spotted something following him in his wing mirror, he described it as a “Mist” that took the shape of a person and no matter what he did he couldn’t shake it off as he got towards the end of the lane it vanished.

 

OUR INVESTIGATION:

We got to Rilshaw Lane at around 8pm via a little pathway called Stile Entry we turned left and slowly headed towards the railway bridge, the atmosphere was quite nice apart from the fact that it was freezing cold and windy. As we got past the small number of houses that are on the lane it quickly became dark due to the lack of streetlights and the mood suddenly changed. Andy was spooked by a couple of horses in a field next to the road. We constantly felt as though someone was behind us and Andy kept feeling tingles up and down his spine as well as what he described as “the feeling of someone grabbing the back of my head”. The EMF Meter picked up some strange readings of around 4-5 mg, lots of pictures were taken as we walked along the lane but sadly there was no sign of a “White Lady” or a “Mist”. We also had a look in a small wooded area along the banks of the River Weaver near Rilshaw Lane, it felt more “creepy” than anything else and as always we took a few pictures and kept walking until we came out at the other side. It was at this point that we decided to make our way to Wharton Church Cemetery.

 

WHARTON CHURCH CEMETERY:

We sat down on one of the benches at the back end of the cemetery and held a mini séance, noises were heard, a couple of Vases on the graves rattled and twigs were broken but sadly we had to put this down to the wind that had began to blow a bit harder. There were no readings on the EMF Meter so we moved to another bench smack bang in the middle of the graveyard. After about 15 minutes I spotted something white out of the corner of my eye, it was moving on a grave behind us I thought it might be flowers blowing in the wind, as I turned around to see what it was it had gone. Minutes later Andy felt sick and became very dizzy, his legs began to get very hot and started to burn up even though it was a very cold night. I took a few pictures and then we left as I was beginning to feel numb from the cold, as we walked out of the graveyard Andy heard footsteps behind us but the footsteps sounded to him as though they were wearing heels. I spun around and took some more pictures we then left to go and get a well-deserved cup of tea, as we left the graveyard Andy’s Sickness stopped almost instantly. (Could Andy be a form of psychic?) Psychics have been known to feel the pain of people or a person who has passed over, was Andy Feeling the pain of someone who was buried in Wharton Church Cemetery? Further investigations may help to give us the answer.

St Chad's Church (looks nice during daylight!)

HISTORY:

St Chad’s Church is said to be in the Doomsday Book, the book tells the story of how the church had been moved by the DEVIL to stop villagers from using it. The church (St Chad) was moved from it’s original position and dropped in the middle of a field and old maps of Winsford, Cheshire show that the church has indeed moved from it’s original location. The church is still based in the middle of a field and to get to it you have to travel down a long country lane that only leads to the church and an old cottage. As well as having been moved the church also has other stories connected to it, in the graveyard is said to be a tomb of a witch (the tomb it’s self has this written on it) so this was the ideal place to start our “Almost Haunted” Investigations.

 

OUR INVESTIGATION:

As we got to the entrance to the church at about 8pm I originally thought I would be a bit scared but I wasn’t, James seemed to be ok as well strangely enough as he’s normally scared. We made our way down the long road towards the church taking pictures as we went along, random picture taking or “gut feelings” usually bring the best results when trying to catch Ghosts or Orbs on film (orbs are believed to be the energy of a spirit/ghost as it builds it’s power, battery draining is a regular occurrence when orbs are present) along the road towards the church is supposed to be a tree that looks like a Devils Pitchfork and people have been hung from it but James and myself could not find it. As we got to the church we noticed that the little cottage had been renovated and had someone living in it they also had a dog because we could hear it barking. Because visiting the church was a spur of the moment thing we did not have permission to be at the graveyard at night and as a lot of graveyards in the area had been vandalised we did not want to have the finger of blame pointed at us! We slowly started to take few pictures and as we did so I got the feeling that someone or something didn’t want us to be there and it wasn’t just James, the dogs barking got louder also so after a while we decided to leave for two reasons, 1. We did not want to get bitten by the dog if it was let out, 2. We did not want the owners to call the police thinking we were vandals. On the way back up the road towards the entrance we both felt that something was watching us or even following us but every time we turned around there was nothing there, we took a few pictures to see if anything would come out on film. Through out the whole investigation the EMF Meter didn’t register any unusual readings, take a look at the pictures and see if YOU can spot anything strange, if you think you can see something in the pictures Email us and let us know what you see!
